'FAMILY' rustic sign.

Custom made for a customer, this sign was made to hang on a gallery wall alongside a collection of family photos. A rough plank of solid pine was cut to size and stained in medium-dark walnut. I made a stencil with the word "FAMILY" on my computer by simply printing it out on paper in the desired font and size. Then, I cut the letters out with a craft blade (exacto knife will do). I positioned the stencil on the pine plank and dry brushed the letters onto the wood in white. I continued to layer the paint on until I was satisfied. Finally, a hook for hanging was added to the back and voila! Rustic "FAMILY" sign complete.
